Choctaw Nation Wilburton Community Center Renovation



Working with the Choctaw Nation, Blue River Architects is renovating the existing BP Merit Building to become the new Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma Community Center. The renovation consists of modeling the existing building after the Broken Bow and Talihina community centers. The space will need to be expanded to accommodate 400 meals being served. Services will include a computer lab; classrooms; child visitation rooms; offices for tribal council, housing, outreach services, along with a commerce remote call center and conference rooms for small business economic development in the area.
Exterior improvements include painted brick, update of landscaping, added covered canopy, potential need for separate driveway for semi deliveries, along with a 200-person above ground shelter.
